The Australian Women’s Weekly and Qantas are looking for Women of the Future – amazing people pursuing a dream to help others.
Now in its fourth year, The Australian Women’s Weekly Qantas Women of the Future competition encourages young women aged between 18 and 30 with a great business idea, charity or creative venture to fund, or innovation to research that will transform the lives of others, to enter.
Eight winners will share in a prize pool of more than $100,000, which includes prize money, Qantas travel bursaries and 12-month Qantas Club memberships.
In 2015, The Australian Women’s Weekly Qantas Women of the Future award winners included film-maker Genevieve Clay-Smith, robotics engineer Marita Cheng and PE teacher Rowena Gilbett. Through the awards, these exceptional young women, plus six runners-up, have been able to make a difference to the lives of others in our community.
This year, we welcome Lucy Turnbull – businesswoman, lawyer and wife of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull – to the judging panel. Mrs Turnbull joins Foreign Minister Julie Bishop; Qantas Group Executive Olivia Wirth; Today show host Lisa Wilkinson; Chloe Shorten, corporate adviser and wife of Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, and TV presenter and model Jesinta Campbell on a stellar panel who will judge this year’s awards.
THE PRIZES
Two winners and six runners-up will receive eight scholarships as follows:
Judges’ Choice: Voted by our panel of experts – $10,000 plus a $10,000 Qantas travel bursary and a year’s Qantas Club membership.
People’s Choice: Voted by the readers – $10,000 plus a $10,000 Qantas travel bursary and a year’s Qantas Club membership.
Six Runners-up: Voted by our panel of experts – $5000 each plus a $5000 Qantas travel bursary and a year’s Qantas Club membership.
