A cruise is the perfect sea break and a sensational way to rest and recharge with the family in tow- add in comedy and fine dining, and you’re in with a unique, one-of-a-kind holiday.
I never thought I’d be the type of person who enjoyed a cruise, but I was more than happy to be proven wrong by P&O Cruises.
The luxurious cabins, constant stream of activities and extraordinary service made it an experience I’d never forget and on top of that – there’s the comedy.
P&O has been providing comedy at sea for almost ten years, and now they’re shaking things up with a four-night Comedy Festival at Sea onboard the Pacific Explorer in June 2018.
The festival features some of Australia’s favourite comedians including Claire Hooper, Harley Breen, Denise Scott, Dave ”Hughesy” Hughes, Tommy Little, Matt Okine and Jimeoin.
If four nights at sea seems a bit long for your liking don’t worry, there’s also a mix of 2, 3 and 4-night SeaBreaks departing Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Cairns, and Auckland in New Zealand.

Fancy yourself a bit of a comedian? There’s no better opportunity to work on your comedy with the guidance of experts.
There are Comedy Workshops, Comedy Gala Shows, the Comedy Gong Show where guest performers get judged, and Cocktails and Comedy, an intimate show to be enjoyed as the sun goes down.
Be warned – people are in this ship to have a good time. There are lots of people of all ages drinking and dancing the night (and day) away.
Where to eat
While most of the meals are including in your ticket (watch out the Pantry, the ships buffet), anyone who has the opportunity should try the Chef’s Table which features a nine-course degustation meal with wine.
What to try
As well as the comedy activities, a spa and a gym, it’s worth checking out the ship’s wine tasting session (available on Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden) to help add a touch more luxury to your experience.
