Here’s what we know so far including possible new iPhone features, launch dates and the price.

The big iPhone 8 leak

Late last month, Apple mistakenly released a firmware update for a HomePod Smart Speaker and iOS developers Steve Troughton-Smith and Guilherme Rambo combed through the code and found some very exciting developments for the iPhone 8.

    1. An edge-to-edge screen and no home button. Repeat, all screen and no keys.
    1. Pearl ID otherwise known as facial recognition. The removal of the home key could be replaced by a face-recognizing camera, which while exciting is also the stuff nightmares are made of.
    1. No more TouchID fingerprint censor. The developers could not find any evidence that the new iPhone will have a fingerprint sensor. This could also mean the end of tap-to-pay
    1. Possible wireless charging. It’s an Apple rumour as old as time and the developers have found some evidence that the iPhone 8 could finally bring that dream to life.

What else do we know?

The new flagship iPhone is predicted to run on iOS 11 with improved processor speeds.

There are rumors the phone will also include a super fast charging USB-C connection, vertical dual cameras, and improved/enhanced waterproofing.
