The four bedroom home in one of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs once belonged to Gina’s daughter, Hope Welker and Hope’s estranged husband, Ryan Welker before the couple moved to New York in 2011.

Ms Welker was taken off the property ownership board in 2012 once legal disputes over the family’s mining empire began.

The property is now in the name of Ms Rinehart’s investment company, 150 Investments, with Gina, Hancock director Tadeusz Watroba and Gina’s youngest daughter, Ginia Rinehart, all co-directors, according to the The Sydney Morning Herald.

The 825 square metre property boasts a wet-edge pool, city skyline views- including the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge- four bathrooms, a home theatre room, and is a short 200 metre walk from Taronga Zoo.

Ms Rinehart first put the property on the market in late 2013 but it failed to sell, with the highest bid at auction a mere $4.3 million.

The billionaire reportedly bought the valuable piece of Mosman real estate from the Hamer family for $5.4 million in 2007.

Ms Rinehart, who is worth $22 billion, sold her 14.99 per cent stake in Fairfax Media in February.

Her battle with the Nine Network over the miniseries, House of Hancock, was back in court on Monday, with Ms Rinehart’s lawyers seeking to stop the miniseries going to DVD.

The miniseries- which features a number of errors according to Ms Rinehart’s team- focusses on the relationship between Gina Rinehart, her father, Lang Hancock, and his second wife, Rose Porteous, throughout the growth of the family owned iron ore company, Hancock Prospecting.

The Mosman property will go to auction at 6pm on March 26.
