Some of Australia’s most inspiring and powerful women have taken to the red carpet ahead of today’s Australian Women’s Weekly 2021 Women of the Future Awards.

Now in its ninth year, the prestigious event recognises and celebrates the nation’s incredible young female trailblazers with one very deserving winner to be announced at the awards luncheon at the Sydney Opera House this afternoon.

Six powerhouse finalists from all over Australia were flown to Sydney to attend the annual event, with the overall winner to receive more than $100,000 in cash and prizes.

Legendary radio host Fran Kelly, businesswoman Wendy McCarthy, Sunrise host Natalie Barr, TV presenter Yumi Stynes and activist Manal Al-Shari will make up the star-studded panel, helmed by judges Caterina Nesci, Yasmin Poole and The Weekly‘s editor-in-chief Nicole Byers.

Meanwhile, Jessica Rowe, Melissa Doyle, Edwina Bartholomew, Phoebe Burgess and Kerri-Anne Kennerley are among the celebrated Aussie women to attend the 2021 event.

Women of the Future finalists Molly and Emma made their way into the awards ceremony, where they could walk away with $100,000 in cash and prizes.

The pair met when they were both casual disability support workers for teenagers named Jack and Maddie, and would discuss how difficult the teens found dressing, given they both used wheelchairs.

In early 2019, the pair created JAM the label – named after Jack and Maddie – to provide inclusive clothing to young people with disabilities.
