The Monday morning meetings at AWW are one not to miss. This is where we catch up and debrief on what has happened over the weekend, what’s in the papers and any breaking news or new story ideas before moving on to a breakdown of all of Sunday evening’s TV.
This Monday was the usual: who saw 60 Minutes? did you see the doco on ABC? which singers are we loving on The Voice? and the usual chatter about The Voice coaches. This week was about Ricky’s Latino nice guy charm, Delta’s cropped haircut (about time — it looks great), Joel — well we are all a fan of Mr Madden, and Seal — his amazing singer Harrison and his new jewellery he was wearing …
Suddenly everyone turned to me and said, was Seal wearing the same necklace you wear?
And yes he was, it is such a simple yet striking piece, and it always catches the eye of many when I wear it. I am not the only person in our office to wear it, our homes editor Hande has one in gold and news editor Bryce recently purchased one for his lovely wife Shay. Our creative director has had her eye on it too, it is an office favourite. The design in question has graced the pages of AWW countless times, the designer received calls en masse when Deb Hutton wore it, and it travelled to Port Douglas for our January resort fashion. We always have a few pieces in the office on standby for any last-minute shoots.
The delicate chain with half circle pendant with a lotus flower or Buddha embossing sits next to mother of pearl, wood or jade tag is set on a fine chain in either silver, yellow or rose gold plating. Seal has sported the By Charlotte chain past two nights. In matte silver with lotus, and wooden Buddha tag. Maybe this will help Seal get in the zone, be zen, and coach his team to a potential second victory?
By Charlotte is the brainchild of makeup artist Charlotte Blakeney, who is one of AWW go-to makeup artists for celebrity and fashion shoots and practically part of the AWW family. Her jewellery is inspired by her exotic travels to places India, Bali and beyond.
