The 2018 Academy Award nominations are finally out and it’s official – Margot Robbie is flying the Aussie flag thanks to her Best Actress in a Leading Role nomination for her much-hyped role as controversial ice skating identity Tonya Harding in I, Tonya.

It’s the first Oscar nomination for the Queensland-born actress, arriving just five years after her breakout role in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).

Like many stars from Down Under, Margot Robbie made her humble start on long-running soapie Neighbours. And before she had every designer in Hollywood fighting to dress her, the actress’ style had to start somewhere – and let’s just say that that somewhere wasn’t at Chanel.

While we count down to the 2018 Oscar ceremony, which will be held on Sunday, March 4th, we can’t wait to see what Margot will wear.

Perhaps she’ll take inspiration from her favourite decade with the 27-year-old previously raving about her love of the 60s, citing “the music, the fashion, the clothes, the hair” as aspects that influence her style choices.

While we think Margot looks good in anything, she certainly has revolutionised her aesthetic over the years to transform from Neighbours babe to fully-fledged fashionista.

And from the back… The plunging, low back was a serious show-stopper.

The New York City premiere of The Wolf of Wall Street was one of Margot’s defining Hollywood moments, and boy did she shine in this one-shouldered white gown.

Then, of course, there was that time she channelled the dancing girl emoji in this show-stopping red number.

The Aussie beauty proved her edgy side in a lace-paneled jumpsuit at the 2014 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.

Margot displayed a much darker side at the 2014 Oscars.

Which just goes to show, that there’s really nothing she can’t pull off!

In May 2014, the star arrived for a dinner to celebrate the work of The Royal Marsden hosted by Prince William at Windsor Castle. Is this the night she met Prince Harry!?

The 27-year-old made a slow transition back to blonde by taking a pit stop on the ginger train! Her fiery look perfectly complimented this gorgeous geometric dress.

And soon enough, she was back to her roots.

The star looked every bit as glamorous for the 2015 Academy Awards in deep plunge, black gown with a statement red lip.

We weren’t sure if this was our Aussie export, or an angel sent from heaven to grace the 2016 Oscars red carpet.

Margot turned heads in this drop-dead gorgeous, figure-hugging gown at the 2016 Met Gala.

But it was this Japanese-inspired Gucci kimono that had fashionistas everywhere saying “slay.”

Then, of course, there was that time Margot made pyjamas look like couture while chatting to Jimmy Kimmel.

The Aussie stunner stole the red carpet at the London premiere of Tarzan in a silver embellished Miu Miu naked dress.

And she looked equally as pretty in pink on the Suicide Squad promotional tour, taking some style advice from Dorothy with those statement red pumps!

The bombshell gave us total style envy in this monochromatic combo while spotted on the streets of NYC.
