Queenie would have a fit!

There’s nothing we love more than checking out a celebrity wedding dress so when fashion designer Misha Nonoo shared three unseen pics of her wedding dress for her fans to see, we were here for it.

But despite being close friends with some our favourite royals including Duchess Meghan, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, there was something distinctly un-royal about her wedding dress.

Misha shared three photos of her gown on her Instagram account and revealed that she herself was the designer behind the creation.

“It was such a special process to make this one-of-a-kind piece, particularly when I usually design with every woman in mind, the options felt endless,” she wrote in her caption.

“In the end, we selected a hand-embroidered guipure lace on laser cut silk organza embroidered by a Swiss family-run mill established in 1904. We finished the piece with a 10-metre long silk tulle veil. I wanted to share these images with you and thank you all for your incredibly warm wishes as we embark on married life together.”

While we love Misha’s lacy look, it made us think that had the fashion designer been marrying into the royal family as her friend Meghan did, her gown would have been vetoed by the Queen due to its low neckline.

Royal brides tend to be quite involved with their wedding dress design, but Her Majesty reportedly always has the final say on the gown’s design and aesthetic.

While the lace and long sleeves have a traditional feel, royal wedding ceremonies usually take place in a church so it would be deemed inappropriate for the bride to be flashing her cleavage.

At her royal wedding to Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan’s dress was designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller for French fashion house Givenchy.

With its high neck, sculpted waist and long-sleeves, the former Suits star kept it simple and traditional, a far cry from the beaded Ralph & Russo frock she wore for her engagement photo shoot.

“The Duchess and Ms. Waight Keller worked closely together on the design, epitomising a timeless minimal elegance referencing the codes of the iconic House of Givenchy,” the palace explained in a statement.

However, Misha’s other royal bestie Princess Eugenie went against royal tradition and opted for an off-the-shoulder Peter Piloto and Christopher de Vos gown.

Despite the wedding taking place in St George’s Chapel, the royal bride specifically requested a low back, as she wanted to show her scar from her scoliosis surgery she underwent at the age of 12.

However, when it came to cleavage, Eugenie sported a modest V-neck that gave nothing away.

The modest and traditional bridal look isn’t just reserved for the royals- Ellie Goulding wore a high-necked custom made Chloe gown for her wedding service before going on to wear four other dresses for the ensuing parties.

So as we count down to Princess Beatrice’s big day when she’ll tie the knot with her partner Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, will she follow suit and go modest?
