We canโt wait to watch Meghan Markle and Kate Middletonโs friendship blossom.
They have so much in common, like marrying into the royal family and being a regular(ish) person before that.

However, our favourite thing about the duo is their killer sense of style, which they both put on display during their engagement photo shoots!

We couldnโt help but compare their engagement dresses after Meghan shared the happy news that Prince Harry proposed.
Meghan stepped out on the day of her announcement wearing a stunning white coat over a dark green dress, cinched at the waist with a tie. The coat was a nod to her temporary home in Toronto, where she lived while shooting Suits, because it was made by Toronto-based brand Line the Label.
She topped off the look with some nude heels, and, of course, her beautiful new engagement ring with two diamonds from Princess Dianaโs personal collection!
The shoot took place outside of Kensington Palace, where Harry grew up and where theyโll live together once married, but since it was chilly, we never got a good look at the dress underneath.
Kate and Prince William, on the other hand, chose to do their announcement photos indoors in November 2011, inside St. Jamesโs Palace.
Since they opted for an indoor shoot, Kate didnโt need a coat, so she let her dress shine. She wore a sapphire blue wrap dress that matched her dazzling ring perfectly.
Though Kate and Meghanโs engagement announcement dresses were quite different, we couldnโt help but notice the similarities Meghanโs coat had to Kateโs engagement portrait look.
In the now-famous photos snapped by Mario Testino, Kate is seen wearing a creamy white dress that has a wrapped appearance and a knee-length, just like Meghanโs coat!
We canโt wait to see what Meghan wears for her royal portrait!
