The Girls star appears on the cover of this monthโs US Vogue, but her flawless appearance had many of her fans asking questions.
Now, the unretouched images have been published, showing just how much the star was slimmed, smoothed, nipped and tucked to be deemed fit for display in the fashion bibleโs pages.
Feminist blog Jezebel offered $10,000 for the unaltered images and received them in less than two hours.
They then combined the before and after shots and published them to display how Lenaโs body was changed.
โItโs interesting that (photographer) Anne Leibovitz and editor-in-chief Anna Wintour felt that they needed to โfixโ before pictures of Lena could be presented to readers,โ Jezebelโs Jessica Coen wrote.
โItโs clearer than ever what kind of women Vogue finds Vogue-worthy: The taller, longer-limbed, svelter version of reality.โ
