After gracing our screens as the lovable Nina Proudman on the hit Aussie show, the 45-year-old mum has now been named as the face of one of Australia’s most well known companies, and it only reiterates her ageless beauty.

In an exciting statement from iconic Aussie department store Myer, Asher Keddie has been named as their new style ambassador, the next famous face to take the role alongside Elyse Knowles, 27, Rachael Finch, 31 and Kris Smith, 40.

In the statement, Myer said Keddie embodied the values and essence of the Myer brand: “She is successful, confident, relatable and is a strong woman of style and substance.”

Keddie herself said Myer was a big part of her childhood, continuing to bring her a sense of nostalgia to this day.

“Some of my most vivid memories as a child was going to see the Myer Christmas windows. My Mum would take us each year as kids, we’d be treated to lunch and then we’d all shop together choosing gifts for family and friends,” she said.

“Myer is a brand I love, and have a genuine affinity with, so I was flattered when they approached me.”

Keddie’s new role comes following the surprise departure of former Myer ambassador, Jennifer Hawkins.

The 35-year-old worked closely with Myer for 12 years, and is now pregnant with her first child.

Having more than a decade on Hawkins, Asher’s appointment as the new ambassador is a refreshing choice from the brand.

Myer’s Chief Customer Officer Geoff Ikin remarked that Keddie has a “timeless beauty” and “a genuine warmth of character”.

The three-time Gold Logie winner is certainly an Aussie icon in her own right.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Ikin elaborated: “Recognisable faces are important in the marketing world. The people we choose are carefully selected so they are what we want to be about.”

Earlier this year, Asher revealed in an exclusive interview with TVWEEK that her three-year-old son Valentino and her stepson Lucas, nine, were her main priorities.

“With every choice [I make], the family and the kids come into play,” she expalined.

“It’s a big conversation in our home – things like, ‘How would that work and how much do I really want to do the gig?'”

She said she felt most families would react similarly.

“I think any working mum or dad would feel the same because sometimes it [work] does come at the cost of your personal life.”

Having recently filmed her small-screen return in the four-part psychological thriller The Cry, Keddie said the role was too good to refuse.

The series is based on a book by best selling writer Helen Fitzgerald, and stars respected actors Ewen Leslie, Jenna Coleman, and Alex Dimitriades.

Asher’s role has a stroing focus on motherhood, which Keddie admitted was at times confronting.

“Reading it, I was mildly traumatised, I have to say,” she explained.

“There were a few days I felt highly uncomfortable about the content, in particular the focus on motherhood.”
