The Queen’s five colourful ensembles are a must-see.

Royal Ascot Races; it’s the main event of the UK equestrian calendar. But not so much for the racing, more for the fashions on the field and the guaranteed appearances and style choices of the royal family. And from Kate Middleton’s white lace dress to Queen Elizabeth’s complete rainbow of ensembles, 2017 did not disappoint in the style stakes.

The Queen and Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and more royalty braved the sweltering UK heatwave (the poor Brits aren’t used to temps higher than the low 20s, and this week hit highs of 30) in the Royal Enclosure over the five day event. And with so many outfits to ogle, we thought we’d round up and rank them in one place:

25. Princess Eugenie. Purely for choosing head-to-toe black on a hot summer’s day.

24. Prince William. The Duke of Cambridge looked as dashing as ever in his top hat and tails with baby blue touches.

23. Sarah Ferguson. The Duchess of York joined daughters Beatrice and Eugenie in a monochrome look.

22. Princess Anne. She attended three days of the event, wearing peaches and cream on day one.

21. Queen Elizabeth. The Queen was present for all five days of Royal Ascot, starting off her first day on a bright note in lime green.

20. Zara Tindall. Being a professional equestrian, of course Zara Tindall made a couple of appearances. Her first, on day one, was in this stunning cobalt blue number.

19. Princess Eugenie. It was all about floral patterns and hues of blue for the princess on day four.

18. Princess Beatrice. Princess B scores beauty points for that fishtail braid and adorable ribbon. This baby blue look was her third of four looks.

17. Sophie, Countess of Wessex. This chic green dress was memorable, but not as memorable as her clumsy moment in it, a close save thanks to the Duchess of Cambridge.

16. Princess Anne. Bold checks are on trend right now and The Queen’s daughter got the memo for day two.

15. Queen Elizabeth. Day three was all about fuchsia for the stylish monarch. Love.

And her hat was a blooming marvelous addition.

14. Princess Eugenie. The princess went for red and black on day three.

13. Princess Anne. Her final look was green and classic.

12. Princess Beatrice. This nude dress coat and statement hat was a winning combo for day four.

11. Zara Tindall. Zara was a vision in cream, with grey and pink accessories, on day three.

10. Queen Elizabeth. Day four called for pastel shades and sparkly jewels, and we’re loving it!

A close up on that bling… We’d be smiling too!

9. Princess Beatrice. This more modern look was a winning way to round off day five.

8. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. This baby blue chiffon dress and pastel pink accessories is a truly dreamy pairing.

7. Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Sophie’s third look was perfectly chic and simple.

6. Queen Elizabeth. Can she do no wrong? This bold purple look could be difficult to pull off, but for The Queen, it’s a breeze!

A close up on that floral-themed head-wear. Because, beautiful!

5. Carole Middleton. Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, 62, also joined the party looking every bit the royal in a sky blue dress by Goat.

4. Princess Beatrice. Seriously, did a prettier coat ever exist? This embellished number is certainly fit for a princess.

3. Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Her pretty in pink look for day two was the perfect balance between classic and modern. And that hat – just wow!

2. Queen Elizabeth. All five of The Queen’s outfits were impressive, but this cheery yellow one is our favourite. Consider your day brightened!

HRH winning the style stakes.

1. Kate Middleton. And in at number one, Kate Middleton looked stunning in a bespoke Alexander McQueen floral lace dress and a white topper adorned with pearls and a lace bow…

This is the second time Kate has attended the event since joining the royal family. She made her debut last year in a strikingly similar white cocktail dress designed by Dolce & Gabbana.
