Weddings are expensive. We get it. But if a couple is set on tying the knot with a lavish party with all the bells and whistles, should their guests be left to foot the bill?

Jessica Baker from Minneapolis couldnโ€™t make it to a kid-free wedding after her babysitting arrangements fell through at the last minute. By not attending her friendsโ€™ big day, she was sent a bill for US$75.90 along with a brutally impersonal note asking for an โ€œexplanationโ€.

โ€œThis cost reflects the amount paid by the bride and groom for meals that were RSVPโ€™d for, reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated,โ€ the note read.

Jessica couldnโ€™t believe her eyes and sent the note to her local news outlet KARE 11.

โ€œYouโ€™ve got to be kidding me,โ€ she told them. โ€œIt listed, we would have had two herb crusted walleye and there was also a service and tax charge.โ€

Itโ€™s safe to say her relationship with the couple is now non-existent after that stunt.

The average Australian wedding now costs just above $65,000 โ€“ more than double the figure from two years ago!

Jessica Baker was shocked to receive a bill from the married couple!
