Ksenija Lukich knows a thing or two about looking incredible.
Whether she’s on the red carpet interviewing the likes of Chris Hemsworth as a host for E! Australia, or showing off her glamorous personal style on Insty, the Aussie model is always a leader in the beauty stakes.
With the spring racing carnival just around the corner, OK! beauty editor Kelsey Ferencak caught up with Ksenija for an exclusive shoot showcasing this season’s top trackside make-up and hair trends. Here, she breaks down exactly how you can nail Ksenija’s looks – from natural and modern to colourful and daring, there’s a race-day win for everyone!
Femme
Tonal makeup has never been more modern (or affordable!). Choose one shade, or one product and stick with it throughout your whole look – over eyes, cheeks and lips.
For this look, makeup artist Jaclyn Hnitko used blush on eyes and cheeks before glossing over lips and adding a touch to the eye lids for extra sheen.
Neutral Territory
If you add a lot of accessories to your lewk keep your makeup subtle. A neutral palette won’t take away from your outfit or be too OTT.
Dust a neutral palette – think soft browns and subtle metallics over eyes and cheeks and finish with a nude lip.
Colour clash
Contrasting colours are still a hit. To determine the best match choose bright shades that work with your clothing. One shade should match, while the other lifts and compliments.
You can’t go wrong with a bold lippy, especially for racing season. Be sure to apply lipliner first and keep your eye on the clock for touch ups post champagne.
Tropicana
You can’t go wrong with a classic winged liner and matching red lip. It’s sexy, sophisticated and suits most fascinator-dress-combos, especially this season’s Tropical trend.
For best beauty results, alter your lip. Choose orange shades to match pastels and lighter tones and true-reds for neutral palettes and blacks.
Straight lines
If you’re wearing a tailored, modern outfit to the track look no further than daring graphic eyeliner. Bigger than your average wing, this look takes charge.
Sweep a liquid liner along your top lid and extend it further than a normal wing before taking it underneath your waterline. Fill in the gaps and clean up and wobbly bits with a Q-tip and concealer.
