4 reasons why you suddenly have dry skin

2. Repeated hand washing

Soap up, scrub, scrub a little more and rinse off the suds. We’re all washing our hands more than ever right now (and for good reason!) but this can result in dry skin. With every wash, however, you are stripping your skin of essential oils and moisture which makes your skin feel drier and tighter.

4. Over-exfoliation

Exfoliation is an essential step in any skincare routine, and is the first step towards a brighter complexion. But there is such a thing as exfoliating too much, resulting in the stripping away of skin’s natural oils that are needed to maintain optimum moisture.

For best results, you should be exfoliating with a gentle scrub or chemical exfoliant. This can actually help to remove dead skin cells and unveil a refreshed complexion – just be careful to not over-do it!
