Why you should add crystals (yes, crystals) to your beauty routine

Surprisingly, they actually work.
Crystals for your beauty routine

Forget all the new-age mumbo jumbo you might know about crystals and open your mind to the new beauty formulas that are hitting the shelves right now. These formulas were made in a lab, not in some hippie’s backyard shed, and although there have been no clinical trials to prove that crystals can specifically help your skin, many people are quick to praise the benefits of these products.

Like many others, by adding crystal-infused products to your routine you might not only notice the difference they make to your skin, but also your mind as crystals are believed to have healing properties.

We spoke to natural skincare expert and AEOS skincare distributor Samantha Sargent, who gave us the lowdown about the benefits of crystal-infused beauty products and how you can find the crystal that’s best for you.

How can crystals impact our wellbeing?

What I love about crystals is that there is so much that we don’t know. Crystal technology is nothing new, and neither is crystal healing. Crystals have been used for thousands of years, with records showing their existence in the lives of the Ancient Sumerians, Greeks, Egyptians and Chinese. What’s fascinating to me is that crystals were highly regarded in ancient times, and today we’re seeing a resurgence in their popularity. What a beautiful thing that we are embracing – the return to what our ancestors knew, respected and gained benefit from.

How are crystals added into beauty products?

Crystals are infused into beauty products by dissolving them in a liquid which is then mixed with the rest of the ingredients to make the product. Whilst having an effect on the emotional mind, crystals can also have an effect on the skin. For example, the AEOS lab found emerald has anti-ageing properties.

AEOS work with an alchemist who takes up to a year to transform the solid crystal rocks into a liquid that is then mixed with the product. Adding crushed crystals is not the same, as the fine grains would simply sit on top of the skin, whereas in as a liquid form they are fully absorbed into the skin.

What do different crystals do and why should we add them into our routine?

There are different crystals for just about anything and they can impact the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our being. It’s simply a matter of how we interact with them.
