The queen’s grand-daughter Zara Phillips has not only given her baby daughter a non-traditional name but also announced that name on Twitter.
The champion equestrian and her rugby hero husband Mike Tindall have named their daughter Mia Grace.
“For everyone who has asked what our daughter’s name, it’s Mia Grace Tindall,” Mike wrote on his Twitter account.
Zara has followed in her mother Princess Anne’s footsteps by choosing a non-traditional name with no royal or family connections.
Zara and Mike’s child is the Queen’s fourth great-grandchild and, like her mum, will not hold a royal title but will be known as Miss Tindall.
The couple welcomed their daughter on January 19 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Mia is the second royal baby to be welcomed into the British royal family in six months, following the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s son Prince George and is 16th in line to the British throne.
