Prince William’s paternity leave has come to an end as he returns to his role as a search and rescue helicopter pilot in the Royal Air Force.
Kate and two-week-old George have been left in good hands, staying on with Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton at their home in Bucklebury.
A royal source close to the couple told People magazine that Kate, 31, intends to take her newborn prince to visit Wills on duty in North Wales within the next couple of weeks. The place holds fond memories for the royal couple as they spent their first year of marriage there.
In the meantime, with his current role set to expire, Wills is awaiting news from the palace regarding his next military deployment. They are expected to announce his new position as squadron leader or adjutant, both roles that would allow him more time with his wife and son.
But for now, it’s back to business as usual for Prince William.
“Like any new dad, William is finding it difficult to imagine going back to work and leaving the new baby at home,” a royal source said.
