Duchess Catherine and Prince William might be the future King and Queen Consort of England, but that doesn’t mean they’re exempt from some of the, er, confronting realities of parenting.
And royal watchers were treated to a glorious reminder of the feat this week when video footage of the pair revealed their reactions to a parenting joke that was all too relateable.
Attending the annual Royal Variety performance in November, Kate and William took a night off from parenting duties to glam up for the comedy performance.
Wearing a gorgeous Alexander McQueen black lace dress, the Duchess of Cambridge was absolutely glowing and she and William were snapped entering the event.
And while we got a glorious view of the royals from outside the show, it wasn’t until this week that we got a proper idea of what went down during the show.
And boy was it worth the wait.
In a hilarious clip which aired on British television this week, the Duke and Duchess were seen sharing a knowing giggle over a joke made by comedian Kerry Godliman, and it’s proved that they’re just like the rest of us when it comes to parenting.
Kerry made the crowd laugh when she talked about her son, who had decided he would drink a bath bomb in order to “look sparkly on the inside”.
She then pointed towards Wills and Kate and said, “You can’t argue with that,” which sparked a fit of giggles from William and Kate, who appeared to understand exactly what she was talking about.
Kate and William have been quite open about their parenting techniques of late.
In November, the Duke was heard chatting to a guest at an event about how he was teaching his six-year-old son Prince George to be a little less competitive with his sister.
“When I was chatting with Prince William he said to me, when he plays football with George and Charlotte, when Charlotte’s in goal George says to her that ‘Charlotte I’m better than you’,” a guest revealed to HELLO!.
Kate has also recently revealed that Prince Louis is starting to speak.
While attending a Christmas event in Buckinghamshire, Kate was overheard telling children there that Louis had become super clingy and wanted to follow her around.
“You remind me of my little Louis, he keeps saying “Me, me, me” and he wants to come everywhere with me,” the Duchess sweetly told a little boy at the event.
Too cute!
