They’ve been in their new Kensington Palace apartment for less than a week but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are already planning their first lavish dinner party.

The couple will host a glamorous $100,000-a-table charity gala in the Palace’s State Apartments in October 24.

The dinner will be in honour of 100 Women in Hedge Funds, a charity which counts William, Kate and Harry as patrons, and all proceeds will go to Action on Addiction, one of Kate’s handpicked causes.

The event will be the first of many to be hosted at William and Kate’s new home with UK newspapers heralding it as the beginning of “a new era of the court of KP”.

“This is their home now and this is where their court will be for a very long time,” an aide told The Daily Express.

Now that they’re in their new digs, Kate and William’s social diary is filling up quickly. On November 26, they will host a winter wonderland themed party in the palace’s garden in aid of Centrepoint, a homeless charity famously patronised by Princess Diana and close to her son William’s heart.

William and Kate moved into the Palace’s 21-room Apartment 1A last week when the year-long renovations were finally completed.

Prince Harry will now move into Nottingham Cottage, the two-bedroom house on the grounds of the Palace that William and Kate called home after their 2011 wedding.
