Their fairytale wedding was almost five years ago but now two very luxe presents the couple were gifted for their big day have surfaced.
British designer Daniel Hanson was commissioned by Prince Charles’ official shirt-maker Turnbull & Asser to create bespoke cashmere dressing gowns for the British royals, worth an estimated $AUD15, 635.
Daniel’s previous A-list clients include Brad Pitt, John Travolta, Meg Ryan and Sir Elton John.
And when you glance at the butter-soft gowns, which feature silk lining and his and hers embroidery, it’s little wonder they cost a small fortune.
Wills’ gown has his world-famous Prince William moniker.
Interestingly, the mother-of-two’s robe has been emblazoned with the title Princess Catherine, however technically speaking she is Princess William of Wales.
“Because they were presents, the decision about what to use inside had to be made before the wedding,” Daniel explained to People.
“Their titles weren’t disclosed until the wedding, so we had to speculate on what she would be called.”
“We were very proud as a company to be commissioned by Turnbull and Asser to make them,” Daniel added.
Well, no one looks good in the morning – unless of course you have a designer robe to wear!
