Notoriously private when it comes to photos of their kids, it wasn’t until the Christmas of 2021 that Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex released the first official photo of their daughter Lilibet, in the form of a holiday card.

In the snap taken by Alexi Lubomirski, who also shot the couple’s engagement and wedding portraits, Harry, Meghan, their son Archie, and Lili, shared a candid family moment at their California home.

Held by her loving mum, Lili stole the show in her frilly white get-up, her angelic smile melting hearts everywhere.

Now over one-year-old and with some new photos and details released, Lili is well and truly coming into her own!

There was one feature in the 2021 Christmas card that couldn’t go unnoticed – she seemed to have inherited her dad’s trademark red hair.

“It could just be me, but I think Lilibet looks like she resembles Harry more than Meghan,” one fan mused on Twitter.

“Harry’s got some dominant genes, for sure,” remarked another.

Back when Harry was a baby himself, he sported a similar white outfit and it’s taken us right back to the eighties!

For her first birthday, Harry and Meghan along with close friends and family members threw a party at their Windsor residence of Frogmore Cottage.

The couple also released a photo of their baby daughter and with her flaming red hair, she’s certainly taken after her dad!

In her official photo for her first birthday, Lili was the spitting image of her dad.

However, there’s something in that smile that definitely has the Markle sparkle.

After looking at a picture Meghan shared on her now defunct lifestyle blog The Tig of herself as a toddler, we have to say it could be a case of like mother, like daughter.

“Lilibet looks like baby Meghan,” one person wrote on Twitter after the Christmas card was released.

It’s a similar smile for sure.

One thing’s for certain, it’s clear to see that Lili has very much taken after her big brother.

If we look back at photos of Archie when he was in his early years, there’s a likeness.

“#Archie and #Lilibet are twins,” one person penned.

“My goodness. Lilibet is a mini Archie and Archie’s hair is EVERYTHING!!!! Soooo adorable. They look sooooo happy!!” exclaimed another.

Sussex fans were delighted to receive even more details about Lilibet’s appearance in Meghan’s 2022 profile with The Cut.

In the article, the royal couple’s youngest child was described as having “watchful bright-blue eyes” as well as being “small and ginger” like her brother.

Meghan also shed some light on why she and Harry have chosen to share only glimpses at their kids, saying: “Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?”

Born on June 4th 2021 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten Windsor weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was kept out of the public eye for the first six months of her life.

Shortly after her birth, Harry remarked of his daughter to one guest at a London charity bash he attended: “She’s very chilled and seems happy to just sit there while Archie is running around like crazy.”

What’s more, a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan told PEOPLE in June 2021 that the eldest Sussex child “is very happy to have a little sister”.
