She's fine. And a very good sport.

Six-year-old Maisie had just experienced a moment she will never forget. She had just met the Queen.

However, this was followed by another moment she’ll remember forever, hopefully fondly, if she’s a ‘glass half-full’ girl.

As the Queen walked away – after taking a posy from Maisie – a guard standing next to her saluted, hitting the six-year-old in the face and knocking her hat off.

Appearing unsure of what to do – or still processing the moment – little Maisie walked backwards and then found respite in the woman behind her, stealing a cuddle.

The incident – which was all caught on camera and is now going viral – occurred in Cardiff on Thursday as the Queen honoured The Royal Welsh with new regimental colours.

And how is little Maisie now?

“She was a little bit upset but I let her wear my hat and carry my sword. She was soon cheerful and she’s running around now,” Maisie’s father, Regimental Sergeant Major Martin Gregory, told the BBC.

Turns out she is a glass half-full girl.

Hats off to you, Maisie.
