British jewellery designer has removed images of Duchess Catherine from her window display after allegedly breaching advertising rules.
Annoushka Ducas, the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite jewellery designer, has taken down an in-store video still presentation featuring Kate after it may have broken guidelines about using members of the royal family for advertising.
According to the UK’s Express, the images removed from the store in Bicester Village, Oxfordshire depicted a smiling Kate wearing Annoushka Ducas designed Classic Baroque Pearl Earring Drops.
Ms Ducas, who has been designing jewellery for 25 years told People magazine in October that Kate is a regular customer, often visiting the shop to purchase gifts for herself.
“She’s just so delightful and just very easy to talk to, very easygoing actually,” said Ducas.
“I feel very proud and very honoured to have her as a customer.”
Ducas saids Kate’s mother Carole Middleton and little sister Pippa Middleton are also fans of the brand.
John Ayton, Ms Ducas’s husband and business partner, has ordered the display to be taken down after the Daily Express contacted them.
“I spoke to Buckingham Palace,” said Mr Ayton.
“They said: ‘You know what the rules are.’
“I do know and I don’t think we were in breach of them but we’ve taken it down.”
