With his beautiful wife Duchess Catherine at home looking after their two adorable children, the Duke of Cambridge ventured out solo for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration with the Irish Guards in Hounslow, London.

In recent years, Catherine has come along to fulfill the duty of presenting shamrocks to the guards, but with the royal couple’s India and Bhutan tour fast approaching, she is focused on spending as much time as possible with her two little ones, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. So for the first time in 115, a male royal carried out the duty!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out for yet another day of joint engagements on March 11. Wills and Kate headed to London Wall to visit the urban youth charity XLP.

Forever the fashionista, Catherine, 34, donned a pink, patterned suit from local London-based brand Eponine. She tied the outfit together with a black clutch and matching court shoes.

The parents to Princess Charlotte and Prince George shared a laugh as they were greeted warmly by Patrick Regan, the XLP chief executive and founder.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a day of joint engagements in London. The couple are currently raising awareness on mental health issues.

On Thursday morning, Catherine and William visited St. Thomas’ Hospital, where they focused on the issue of suicide. The couple met Jonny Benjamin, who was saved by a stranger when he tried to take his own life in 2008.

After a stranger saved his life, Jonny launched the Find Mike campaign to find the man who talked him out of jumping off the bridge. He eventually discovered it was Neil Laybourn, who was also present at the meeting with the Duke and Duchess.

Jonny and Neil bravely shared their personal ordeals. A documentary has been made about his experiences and the campaign.

Jonny, then 20, had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and said he felt his life had hit “rock bottom” before the kind intervention of a stranger. Thanks to Neil, the Brit has turned his life around. His FindMike campaign became a global phenomenon and was supported by people all across Britain including Stephen Fry, Boy George and Prime Minister David Cameron.

Despite the heavy nature of the day, the mother-of-two managed to find the opportunity to share some lighter moments.

William was moved by the stories saying, “Someone told me five people a day try to kill themselves. I was just blown away by the‎ statistics.” While Kate added, “For both of us, the mental health piece has got lots of aspects. It’s such a big issue that we need to do something about it.”

Looking good! Following their French Alps holiday, it is back to work for the parents-of-two. The 34-year-old mum recycled her green Erdem coat previously worn in New Zealand and France back in 2014, Wills, 33, opted for a more casual approach in a pair of chinos.

Backing it up! The couple, who wed in 2011, had two meetings which both focused on mental health.

She may be royal, but Catherine loves being frugal! Her black, bird print dress is from British department store, Debenhams and costs £60 (about $AUD115).

After watching Jonny’s documentary, young students got the chance to chat about mental health.

Passionate about mental health, the Duchess explained how childhood problems were the root cause of many the afflictions of adults. “We see through the work that we do with addiction, homelessness, and knife crime that a lot of it stems back to childhood,” she said. The couple are teaming up with Rethink Mental Illness to help raise awareness.
