If you thought working for one of the most prestigious households in the world would earn you a motza – think again!
According to the Daily Mirror, a list of vocations going at the Queen’s Buckingham Palace in London show the reality of royal work, and the pay cheque isn’t quite what you’d expect!
A sous chef at Buckingham Palace will earn just $50, 000 – not such a grand fee when you consider the prospect of having to cook Her Majesty breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.
Meanwhile a painter/decorator will earn just $48, 211 to keep the sprawling property sparkling and stylish.
It’s even less for the poor old housekeeping assistant, who will cash in a measly $27 987. However they will be compensated for accommodation.
Over at Windsor Home Park it’s not much better for a warehouse operative, who will be looking at a $30, 843 salary.
But it’s not all doom and gloom with all staff being treated to a free meal and a 15% employer contribution retirement plan.
Considering Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms, it’s little wonder Queen Elizabeth has tried to keep her overheads down!
