Cementing her spot as ‘the world’s hardest working monarch’, Queen Elizabeth and husband, Prince Philip, added another few engagements to their growing tally over the course of the week.
On a visit to neighbouring Germany, Queen Elizabeth pulled out all the stops with her trip including, all in all, no less than four engagements, one tiara, 17 20+ carat rubies, one gift of a robot and one boat ride.
It’s no surprise, of course, the Daily Mail has reported, the Queen has attended over 100 engagement since the start of the year, and she doesn’t look like she’s slowing down.
In addition to her appointments, of which she averages around five per week, the Queen is also committed to writing around 300 letters per day to dignitaries, subjects and charities, along with parliamentary visits, political appointments, and meetings with advisers.
Phew, it’s making us tired just thinking about it – we can’t even imagine carrying out that much at the age of 89.
No wonder she’s England’s most successful monarch.
Take a look at our favourite monarch moments.
