Often recognised as the hardest working royal around, the daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip is described by fans as the “most underrated” member of the royal family, thanks to her understated charm and “put your head down and get it done” attitude.

And now the Palace has released two gorgeous photos of this popular royal to mark this special occasion.

The official Royal Family Instagram account posted a wonderful mother-daughter photo of Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne sitting on the (albiet, very glamorous) couch together.

The stunning image, taken by renowned American photographer Annie Leibovitz, shows the warmth between the two royals.

The happy celebration will come as some welcome good news for Princess Anne, whose mother-in-law Barbara Alison Laurence sadly passed away last month.

Anne and her husband Timothy Laurence mourned the sad loss of Barbara, who died peacefully aged 90 on July 2.

Anne is known for her incredible work ethic, consistently being recognised as one of the hardest working royals.

Indeed last year, the 68-year-old worked more days than any other royal, attending formal engagements on 180 days.
