What do you get the woman who has everything? A chocolate replica of her favourite state coach covered in 24-carat gold, apparently.

That’s just one of the weird and wonderful gifts the Queen received last year in the course of her duties.

The palace published a full list of all official presents received by the royal family in 2013 overnight and it makes for very interesting reading.

Princess Anne was given some of the most unusual items, including a portrait of her riding a moose, a book entitled Your Arms Remind Me Of Pork Luncheon Meat, a garden gnome and a knitted hat with horse ears attached to it.

The Queen received a jewelled ostrich egg with her photo on it, a portrait of herself burned into a tree trunk and an Oyster card to use on London’s public transport system.

Harry was one of the luckiest royals, receiving many gifts he would actually find quite useful, including a brown leather flying jacket, personalised Nike trainers, a bottle of whisky and an engraved hip flask.

Charles was not so fortunate, accepting a ceramic figurine of himself with Postman Pat, a pair of sleeveless jackets and 18 bottles of women’s perfume.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not receive any official gifts as they did not travel overseas in 2013 due to Kate’s pregnancy.
