After spending a few months abroad in Africa volunteering for animal conservation Prince Harry dusted off his sharpest suit to attend the Rugby World Cup welcome party on Thursday in London.
Sports mad Harry, 31, is the honorary president of England Rugby 2015, and took to the stage to give an eloquent speech on the eve of the six-week tournament.
“As a passionate rugby fan, I will share in the rollercoaster of emotions with millions of other fans around the world between now and Oct. 31,” he said.
Harry, who is often playing rugby with kids while visiting schools, took the opportunity to encourage people to take up the sport.
“I believe that this World Cup – more than any before – has the potential to grow the game, both at home and abroad, by inspiring children of all backgrounds, and encouraging men and women of all ages and abilities, to embrace rugby,” he continued.
The night before the Rugby World Cup event Harry – who turned 31 on September 15 – was spotted enjoying some belated celebrations with close friends and family at The Cross Keys pub in Chelsea.
The Daily Mail has published photos of the Prince’s low key party attendees which included Harry’s cousin Zara Phillips, her husband Mike Tindall, as well as Harry ex Cressida Bonas – prompting rumours the pair might be rekindling their romance.
Just last week royal spies were speculating Harry could be getting back with his other former ex Chelsy Davy as the pair reportedly caught up while Harry was in Chelsy’s native Africa.
Now talks of a “love-triangle” are brewing, but Harry seems very content to just enjoy his bachelor status telling reporters earlier this year he is “happy not having a girlfriend.”
“It would be great to have someone else next to me to share the pressure,” he said in New Zealand in May. “But, you know, time will come and whatever happens, happens.”
While we are sure the Queen won’t be too interested in Harry’s love life we do know she might disapprove of his current facial hair.
Last year when Harry sported a wild beard after coming back from his charity walk in the South Pole her Majesty was reportedly none too pleased.
Palace staff aren’t encouraged to sport unruly facial hair and the Queen likes royals to live by the same standard.
