This month, Sarah Ferguson has celebrated a milestone she’ll never forget – becoming a grandmother.
The 61-year-old’s daughter Princess Eugenie welcomed a baby son on February 9, with the royal simply announcing his arrival with a black-and-white image featuring her little baby’s hand, and three blue love hearts.
For Sarah, also known as Fergie, the excitement was oh so real – and understandably so.
While the UK remains in a state of lockdown, it is possible that Fergie has yet to meet her grandson in person.
That said, she couldn’t contain her excitement in her latest YouTube video, shared to her children’s Storytime channel.
In the intro, Sarah tells the camera: “Hello, magic dust is in the air! Very exciting times, and I’m a Granny!”
Fergie has kept mum on all things baby since her grandson’s birth.
Her silence is slightly unusual given the royal’s love for showing her support for her daughters, both Eugenie and Beatrice, on the platform.
That said, it’s quite likely this is because Eugenie is hoping to keep things low-key in the interim while she settles into her life as a mum to her son, whom she shares with husband Jack Brooksbank.
Of course, the excited grandmother she is, this isn’t the first time Sarah has subtly commented on her daughter’s birth – though not so directly.
In a video posted to Instagram earlier this week, the royal was seen at her Storytime table with a number of books around her – one of them titled Arthur Fantastic. Some believe this might have been a clue as to the name of Eugenie’s royal baby, which is yet to be announced.
In the days after Eugenie’s baby son was welcomed, Sarah made another subtle comment, introducing her next episode: “Mums and dads, aunts and uncles…,” then giving the camera a knowing glance and adding, “Granny and grandpa!”
