In a moment that brought an entire room to tears, Sarah Ferguson’s incredible charity work has been celebrated and highlighted like never before.
Attending Hello!‘s first Star Women Awards on Tuesday 25 June, the Duchess of York was recognised for her various involvements in charity work, including that of her patron organisation Street Child.
But it was Sarah’s stirring speech that really caught everyone’s attention – and didn’t leave a dry eye in the house.
Receiving the Inspiration of the Year Award, Fergie delivered a beautiful speech where she promised to help the winner of last year’s Star Mums award at her fundraising ball.
Speaking to winner Lisa Wells, the royal humorously quipped: “Maybe you’d prefer one of the other duchesses?”
According to Hello!, the royal also shared some heartfelt words that moved the audience to tears.
The royal has been active in making an emotional plea for social change.
That very same day, Sarah appeared on This Morning where she spoke about her support for a campaign that would ensure all ingredients be listed on pre-packaged food after the death of a girl who died as a result of consuming something with incorrect labelling.
She also attended the British Heart Foundation‘s ‘Bias And Biology’ panel, which she personally backed to raise awareness about the inequalities in women’s health care for heart disease.
For her incredible day, the Duchess wore a striking green dress featuring a matching tie-belt at the waist.
The Duchess looked stunning as she stepped out in London on Tuesday to support causes close to her heart.

Speaking about her work for the organisation last year, the Duchess issued a plea to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.
“As a mother, I have found the stories and scenes of children affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia utterly heartbreaking.”
“They need our help. That’s why we are launching a special appeal – please support it if you can”.
There’s no denying the Duchess is a passionate advocate and deserves all the praise she’s getting for her work with the organisation.

(Getty)Also in attendance at Hello!‘s event was Spice Girls singer Mel B, who looked chic in a fitted black dress.
Speaking at the event, the talented songstress opened up about her personal experience with domestic violence.
“I went to a refuge in Leeds and I sat down with 15 women, and they all had exactly the same story as mine,” Mel said.
“I was so embarrassed to talk about it but then I started speaking about it and I felt so empowered.”
Melanie B also opened up at the emotional event.
