Noses are firmly out of joint after key figures weren’t invited to Prince George’s christening – and Kate is copping the blame.
A controversial decision to snub key royals from Prince George’s christening this week has sparked a bitter feud across three generations of the family.
After learning the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s “intimate affair with just close family and friends” did not include Princes Andrew and Edward and Princess Anne, Woman’s Day can reveal Andrew went straight to the top in a bid to overrule Kate and Wills.
In other words, he threw a tantrum to his mother, the Queen. Friends say when news of his complaints inevitably filtered back to Kate, she was devastated to be seen in such poor light, but luckily for her, everyone knows that messing with her means messing with Wills – and he’s known to stand by his wife.
“Prince Andrew was livid when he spoke to the Queen, shortly after being informed he was not invited to the christening,” Bill Coles, a veteran royal reporter with sources extremely close to Andrew tells Woman’s Day exclusively. “He told her he feels Kate’s ‘common upbringing’ means she doesn’t understand the proper standing and hierarchy in the royal family.”
