William, 32, and Catherine, 33, are officially on the hunt for a new Housekeeper to look after the ten-bedroom property at King’s Lynn in the Norfolk countryside, ahead of the arrival of the new royal baby.

“Housekeeper sought for a large family home in Norfolk,” reads the advertisement which was placed in posh British magazine The Lady.

If you’ve ever fancied a role in the royal household, now is your opportunity to apply! You had better be able to keep family details confidential though, as the ad stresses that “Discretion and loyalty is paramount”.

The ad continues: “We are looking for someone with previous housekeeping experience, ideally within a large private house, and preferably within a family environment with dogs.”

“Main duties will include: cleaning all areas of the house to a high standard; caring for and maintaining the home owners’ clothing; cleaning silverware and glassware; purchasing groceries and general provisions for the house; and dealing with deliveries.

Whoever ends up in the role had better have a fondness for the family pet Lupo though, who is known to make a doggy mess sometimes!

“On occasions, the role will also involve the preparation of meals, assisting with childcare and caring for dogs.”

The news comes after the departure of William and Catherine’s husband-and-wife housekeeper team, Amy and Colin Wood.

Amy and Colin began working for the couple in the second half of last year as renovations were completed on Anmer Hall – the Georgian mansion on property bordering the royal estate of Sandringham that Queen Elizabeth bestowed upon the couple after the royal wedding in 2011.

The housekeeper couple lived at the ten-bedroom estate where Amy oversaw the house while her husband looked after landscaping and the garden. As to whether the royals would employ a couple again seems uncertain, however they do advise that the accommodation would be suitable for two.

“Self-contained accommodation will be provided (suitable for a couple). The partner may be offered ad hoc maintenance work, although there is no guaranteed work provided for them.”

It was originally reported that Duchess Catherine’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton were moving in to take over housekeeper duties.

It now seems likely that they will indeed probably help out in the interim, especially with the arrival of the new baby, due mid-April. Afterall, Kate did end up spending her first few weeks with newborn Prince George at the Middleton’s home in Berkshire.

“When George arrived, Kate and William moved into Kate’s parents’ house. This time the Middletons are moving in to Anmer with William and Kate,” a family friend reportedly told the Daily Mail.

We’re sure that whoever gets the job will certainly have their hands full cleaning up after rambunctious young Prince George and his new baby brother or sister!
