2015 was officially the year of the British Royal Family! From ground-breaking historical moments to royal tours and of course, the arrival of Princess Charlotte, it's been quite a ride.

As the year comes to a close, we’ve rounded up the most memorable moments of 2015 for the British Royal Family.

From the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s second child, to Prince Harry’s royal tour of Australia and Queen Elizabeth II becoming Britain’s longest-serving monarch, it’s been quite a ride.

Babies, births, smashing milestones and a whole lot of George cuteness! 2015 has been a big year for the British royal family.

During William’s trip to Japan he received a wooden toy, a samurai painting and two kendama games, which is similar to the cup-and-ball game. While the nation’s emperor and empress gifted him a soft toy for Prince George.

Prince William’s royal tour of Japan: The second in line to the throne modelled some very cool threads, wearing traditional Japanese King’s Samurai costume during a visit to the set of a historical drama in Tokyo in March.

The Duchess of Cambridge makes her final appearance before the birth of her second child: The Duchess looked beautiful in her vibrant magenta coat as she and The Duke of Cambridge visited the Stephen Lawrence Centre, Deptford in support of development opportunities for young people back in March.

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall celebrate their 10th anniversary on April 9th: Their marriage has stood the test of time with Prince Charles gushing about his wife during an interview. “It’s always nice to have somebody on your side. She is an enormous support, and sees the funny side of life, thank God,” he told CNN.

Prince Harry comes to Australia: Making only one official engagement while on his military tour of Australia, Prince Harry laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the National War Memorial in Canberra.

Duchess Catherine and Prince William welcome a perfect Princess!: After Kensington Palace announced via Twitter the Duchess of Cambridge safely delivered her daughter at 8.34am on May 2nd 2015, Prince George realised he was no longer an only child. Days later, the proud royal parents revealed their daughter’s name; Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.

Prince Harry ends his decade-long military service : In March, Harry announced he had decided to leave the Army after coming to a “crossroad in my military career,” and in June he officially said good-bye to the armed forces. In an official statement from Kensington Palace it was revealed that, “the Prince has had a fulfilling military career and considers it a huge honour to have served his country in the Armed Forces.”

The Duchess releases four photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte: A little over four weeks after the world was introduced to Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge, Catherine celebrated her bundle of joy with new family portraits. And it was safe to say that all around the world a collective “aww” could be heard.

Trooping the Colour: It may be a timeless tradition that celebrates the head of the British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth, but the highlight of the spectacular event was Duchess Catherine’s first outing since giving birth and her adorable son, Prince George’s very first appearance at the event AND on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Prince William talks about parenthood and life back at work

Princess Charlotte is christened: And by George, her brother steals the show! With her loving family by her side, Princess Charlotte was christened in an intimate ceremony at The Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, in July.

**Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge (and his gorgeous chubby cheeks) turned two on July 22nd.** George continues dancing his way into our heart, especially now that the charismatic royal is entering the terrible twos – and so far they’ve been terribly cute.

Duchess Catherine’s banging return to royal duties: In September, Catherine made her return to the spotlight with a brand new fringe. Her first royal duty was for a cause close to her heart, a visit to the Anna Freud Centre – a child mental-health research, training and charity facility in London.

Queen Elizabeth II becomes Britain’s newest longest-serving monarch: Celebrating the milestone in Scotland on September 8, the 89-year-old took out the top spot from her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, who held a firm rule for 63 years and 216 days.

Introducing the Duchess of Sparkle!: In October, the 33-year-old made a spectacular debut as she attended her first state banquet with the Chinese President at Buckingham Palace. Wearing a red Jenny Packman gown, Catherine dazzled, completing her outfit with the Queen Mother’s gorgeous Papyrus/Lotus Flower tiara.

Family bonding: Wills, Kate and Prince Harry attended the world premiere of Spectre, the 24th James Bond film, at Royal Albert Hall in London, on 26th October.

Prince Harry and his handsome beard jetted off to the US : There just for the day, Harry charmed the first lady, Michelle Obama as he helped promote the 2016 Invictus Games.

Princess Charlotte of Cambridge’s brand new portraits: The British Royal Family released a set of stunning new portraits of Princess Charlotte, taken by the six month old’s mum. The photos show just how much the darling daughter of William and Catherine has blossomed!

Duchess Catherine stuns in Princess Diana’s favourite tiara: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended her Majesty’s most glamorous event of the year, The Annual Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace. Catherine opted to wear one of Princess Diana’s favourite headpieces, the diamond and pearl Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara.
