While bookies around the world were convinced the Duchess was expecting a daughter, the newest member of the Royal family was, in fact, a darling baby boy.

Not just any boy, the ‘little’ Prince has tipped the scales as the heaviest royal baby in 100 years!

Suddenly Princess Mary doesn’t seem appropriate…

As the couple were leaving the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, William told waiting reporters the couple were “very happy, delighted” as he fit the baby carrier into the car.

Holding up three fingers, he said, “thrice worry now,” adding, “We didn’t keep you waiting too long.”

And when asked about the name he said, “You’ll find out soon enough.”

What will the new Prince’s name be?

For those of us who can’t wait for “soon enough,” the betting odds have tipped that the newborn will be known as Prince Arthur.

Unsurprisingly, all the favourite top names are very traditional – with Arthur, closely followed by Phillip, James and Albert.

Prince Paddy, though it has a nice to ring to it, is proving to be an outsider with odds of 501/1.

We’ll have to wait to know for sure.
