Following her relationship with Prince William, Catherine Middleton shortened her name to ‘Kate’ and used a ‘K’ as opposed to a ‘C’ which royal watchers assumed it was for commonality but there could be other motivations behind the decision.
Prince Harry has revealed some bizarre details in his memoir, Spare and the latest one is the spelling of the Princess of Wales name which was allegedly a decision made two senior royals.
The Duke of Sussex detailed the moment the now King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort requested Catherine used a ‘K’ to spell the shortened version of her name.
“There were already two royal cyphers with a C and a crown above: Charles and Camilla,” Harry wrote. “It would be too confusing to have another.”
The book further added that King Charles admired Kate Middleton’s long brunette hair and had “often spoken” of how lovely it was.
According to Prince Harry, both King Charles and his departed grandmother Queen Elizabeth II preferred “women with their hair down” and wearing minimal makeup.
In which Prince Harry’s now wife, Meghan Markle adopted the hair down and minimal makeup look for her first meet with Charles and Camilla at their Clarence House.
It is no shock Meghan wanted to follow in Kate Middleton’s footsteps as the princess has become a fashion icon since entering the royal family.
Her major fashion moments first began with her Alexander McQueen wedding gown and was only followed by cinched waists and a-line skirts which became her signature style.
With time and years of practice, the 41-year-old has become more elegant and classy, sticking to the designers she adores including Jenny Packham.
But every now and then, royal watchers experience the occasional fashion risks hardly seen on other royal members and she is pulling them off!
