Queen Elizabeth walks into a bar… it sounds like the start of a joke but apparently according to reports out of the UK, it’s totally serious!
Locals couldn’t believe their eyes when the Queen arrived at a pub in Edinburgh for a quiet dinner after a royal engagement in the area.
According to reports in Hello magazine, the usually prim and proper monarch called an hour ahead before popping in to the joint, to ask the staff at the Sheep Heid Inn to prepare for a “small royal party”.
The party reportedly dined on two portions of lamb rump, a seabass fillet, half a bottle of wine and a martini.
It’s not clear what the Queen herself ate, or whether indeed the meals were just for her party.
Staff were apparently told to keep mum on Her Majesty’s visit, but one local who was dining at the Inn at the time left a detailed account on a TripAdvisor review.
Check out what the Queen’s EPIC dining room table looks like in the video below. Post continues.
A user named RosC17 wrote: “What a lovely lady. Security guards everywhere but so unobtrusive that you hardly noticed them.
“What an honour for your exvellent front of house and kitchen teams,” she wrote.
“We have enjoyed many visits ot the Sheep Heid Inn bit this was particularly memorable. Five stars plus a gold star!”
A Kensington Palace spokesperson would only confirm that the Queen dined “privately” on the night.
She might dine at a pub, but the Queen is still proper enough to give William a proper scolding! Check out the hilarious video below. Post continues.
Meanwhile, if you’ve ever dreamed of working for royalty, Queen Elizabeth is on the hunt for a new dishwasher for Buckingham Palace.
While a dishwasher doesn’t sound like the most glamorous job, the lucky recipient of the work will get to live in the palace itself while helping to clean the kitchen and prep her food.
The position, listed on the royal residence’s website, comes with a salary of £16,755.56, allows for 33 days of annual leave and benefits on top of that.
Not only that, but they will also have all their meals provided for them too.
The person may also be required to travel with the royals to other residences. Be right back, we’re brushing up our resumes!
