Queen Elizabeth II was surrounded by loved ones during her final hours at the Scottish country residence in Balmoral Castle, including her two corgis Muick and Sandy, a new report has claimed.
A palace source has informed the Daily Mail that the Queen’s corgis laid by their owners side.
The Queen has loved Corgis since she was a teenager.

Following Her Majesty’s passing, a spokesperson for the Duke of York said he and Sarah, Duchess of York will take care of Muick and Sandy – who were both gifted to the Queen.

“The corgis will return to live at Royal Lodge [on the Windsor Estate] with the Duke and Duchess,” a source close to Prince Andrew told the BBC.
The disgraced Prince gifted his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, corgis Muick and Fergus during lockdown.

(Image: Getty)Fergus sadly passed away in May 2021, but was soon replaced by another corgi named Sandy, who was a gift from Andrew’s daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.
Queen Elizabeth II named the dog Fergus in memory of her maternal uncle Fergus Bowes-Lyon, who died in France during World War I. Meanwhile, the second pup Muick is named after Loch Muick, a lake on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland.
When the news spread that Prince Andrew was taking the two corgis, royal fans did not have positive reactions.

(Image: Getty)“I feel so bad for those dogs,” one person wrote on Twitter, while another said: “Apparently Prince Andrew is to take in the Queen’s corgis … After all he is good at grooming.”
Her Majesty has loved the breed ever since her 18th birthday where she was gifted Susan, a corgi.
However, it remains unclear who will take care of the Queen’s other two dogs, a cocker spaniel named Lissy and a dachshund corgi hybrid named Candy. Their future will be decided by King Charles III.
