British politicians have told Queen Elizabeth IIโs household accountants that they need to boost the royal familyโs income.
Suggestions have included more tours, leasing of the Royal Familyโs properties and making its facilities available for commercial events.
Weโve seen some stunning exhibitions of royal heirlooms, palaces and gardens in recent years. The Queenโs finest gems were put on display for the first time to mark her Diamond Jubilee, and whole new sections of Kensington Palace were unveiled following a ยฃ12 million refurbishment.
Hopefully the Public Accounts Committee has these types of initiatives in mind, in order to put some of the Royal assets to work.
May we suggest some?
