The British royal family has been mourning the death of their patriarch, Prince Philip, who passed away on April 9 2021.

Fortunately, the family was able to spend one last family holiday all together to celebrate Easter at Frogmore House.

Now, rare new pictures have emerged from that special time, featuring Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles wearing chic winter coats while planting a Verdun Oak in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

These images were taken on March 23 by Getty photographer Chris Jackson before Prince Philip’s sad passing.

Chris shared that the images were taken to inspire people to “get planting” for The Queens “Tree-Bilee in 2022.”

The planting initiative was started to motivate people to plant trees in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which Prince Charles is the Patron.

In a non-pandemic world, family members of the Queen would have travelled to Windsor to attend a church service at St George’s Chapel.

However, the occasion had to be tweaked this year to comply with Covid restrictions.

Luckily, Prince Charles was able to stand by his mother’s side during Easter because the Queen had finally been vaccinated.

This meant royal fans were treated to some new pictures of them together as they enjoyed the spring weather outside Windsor Castle on the grounds of Frogmore House.

The Palace released a gorgeous image of the two royals sharing a special moment as they walked together.

“The Queen and The Prince of Wales enjoy a walk in the grounds of Frogmore House, Windsor,” the caption read alongside the sweet image.

The Cambridges also had a quiet Easter with their children Prince Louis, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Even though celebrations were small, Kate Middleton made sure there was plenty of chocolate to go around, and she posted this video of a chocolate egg embossed with the words’ Happy Easter’ in delicate white frosting.

As the clip begins, the egg appears smashed, and in a rewind feature, it falls back together again as a rolling pin (the likely culprit behind the smashed egg) moves away.
