Queen Elizabeth drives Kate and Carole Middleton to a picnic in Balmoral

Age certainly hasn’t slowed down her Majesty, The Queen. Her Royal Highness may have just celebrated her 90th, but she still has all her wits about her.

Showing off her skills, she was spotted driving her granddaughter-in-law, Duchess Catherine to a picnic at Balmoral over the weekend.

If anyone is going to get away with breaking royal protocol, it’s the head of state!

The 90-year-old seemed at ease as she got behind the wheel of her dark green Range Rover, with Catherine by her side in the passenger seat as the pair drove to their lunch with Prince William.

Catherine, 34, looked country chic donning a green jacket and brown scarf with her pretty brunette locks swept back with a headband.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth stepped into something more casual than her usual royal attire, rocking a green vest over a navy blue blouse.

William and Kate have taken some time out of their hectic schedule to whisk the kids away to their favourite Scottish getaway.

No doubt Prince George and Princess Charlotte are loving their summer escape with their beloved Gan-Gan.

William was spotted heading out to the picnic before the ladies, likely to take part in some grouse shooting.

The family were spotted by onlookers, who noticed they were all having a splendid summer day.

“They looked really happy,” one local told People.

“They were coming up to see the others for a picnic when the shoot had its break.”

The Queen happily showed Kate’s mother around Balmoral.

The Cambridges were delighted to spend some time with their loved ones in the Scottish town.

The Queen also invited Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton to their beloved Balmoral estate, where they all enjoyed country walks, picnics and BBQs.

Her Majesty was even spotted driving Carole around!

The Cambridge’s family holiday in Scotland is expected to end this week, with William scheduled to take part in numerous royal engagements on Wednesday and Friday, before the entire family jets off to Canada for an official Royal tour from September 24 until October 1.
