Queen Elizabeth doesn’t often show affection in public but she just couldn’t help herself when she saw Prince George yesterday.
The monarch lavished her great-grandson with affection, bending down to chat to him outside the church where his sister Princess Charlotte was christened.
George seemed equally enamoured with her, pointing at her throughout their exchange.
The Queen and Prince Philip seemed to thoroughly enjoy the day out and their fondness for William, Kate and their family was clear for all to see.
The Queen was visibly delighted by her tiny great-grandson, who couldn’t stop pointing at her.
Her Majesty was also very pleased to see the baby of the hour, little Charlotte, smiling as she looked into her pram.
The Queen and Prince Philip are obviously besotted with William and Kate’s little family.

George wore a very similar outfit to the one William wore as a child.
The Duke and Duchess waved to well-wishers who had gathered by the church,
