Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding promises to be the wedding of the year — sorry, Princess Eugenie! And now, less than three weeks out from the bigger than big day, more and more exciting details are coming to light.
Priyanka Chopra, close friend of the bride-to-be, has just confirmed her attendance to the royal wedding on May 19.
Sadly, though, she won’t be an official part of the day’s proceedings.
Per People Magazine, the actress confirmed that she is “not a bridesmaid” in Harry and Meghan’s May 19 wedding.
Despite not having been included in the bridal party, she’s still “super excited” about all that’s still to come.
“I’m super excited about her and her big day,” the 35-year-old actress said of her close friend. “It’s not just going to be life-changing for both of them, it’s life-changing for the world that needs to see strong women as icons, and I think Meghan has the potential to be that.”
Speaking with Us Weekly, the Baywatch star also opened up about her close friendship with the royal-in-training.
“I’ve known Meghan for three years and I’m so happy the way the world has responded to her because as long as I’ve known her … she is a relatable young woman of the world today,” she said. “She’s that girl who thinks out of the box. She has always been an activist. She has always had a strong voice. She’s an ambitious girl of today.”
She added: “I think the world needs strong role models like Meghan.”
Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, will exchange vows at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19.
Around 600 people have been invited to the service, with a select 200 close friends also scoring a place at an after party at Frogmore House on the castle grounds. Of course, that’s where the royal couple took their stunning engagement photos and it’s also where they spent time together as their relationship blossomed.
We can barely wait!
