The Swedish Royal Palace made the exciting announcement on their official Facebook page:
“Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are happy to announce that The Crown Princess is expecting their second child. The birth is expected to take place in March of 2016,” the statement read.
The royals also advised that: “No changes in the schedule of The Crown Princess Couple’s public engagements are planned during the fall of 2015.”
The 38-year-old Princess and her husband are already the proud parents to three-year-old Princess Estelle.
Victoria, who like her brother Prince Philip, also had a whirlwind fairytale romance when she married her personal trainer in 2010.
The Crown Princess is next in line to the throne after her father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, who has ruled since 1973.
The new arrival will become the third-in-line to the Swedish throne, behind mum and big sister Estelle.
Speculation about the Princess expecting a second child was rife after she made an official appearance showcasing a little baby bump earlier this week.
Victoria, who recently became an Aunty again, was simply glowing, donning a glitzy floor-length grey column dress. She joined her parents for the annual Sweden dinner at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
The new-baby will be in good company making it the second royal birth in less than a year, following Victoria’s younger sister, Princess Madeleine, 33 welcoming her second child, Prince Nicolas who was born in June.
Many congratulations to the happy family!
