The mother-of-four had a swell of a time getting in touch with her roots as she spent some time with the Danish Swimming Federation on Monday. As a patron of the organisation, the 43-year-old travelled to the north of Denmark for the inauguration of the new lifesaving post at Tversted Strand.

You’d be forgiven for thinking Princess Mary was back in Oz, as the Danish lifeguards don a very similar uniform to what you’d see on your favourite Aussie beaches.

The mother-of-four sported a casual yet cool sports luxe vibe in fitted skinny jeans, an oversized jacket and a stunning knitted charcoal poncho, all pulled together with her signature chic pony tail.

It was clear Mary was right at home at the beach with the royal smiling from ear-to-ear and chatting happily to the locals and lifeguards.

Mary ended the festivities by christening the lifeguard tower with water straight from the ocean.

Princess Mary had the honour of christening the lifeguard tower with a splash of salty sea water.

The future queen was all smiles as she excepted a stunning bunch of flowers from a young well-wisher.

It looks like Mary was in a knit of trouble, trying to get out of her jumper.

The 43-year-old looking flawless, with her signature pony tail on point!
