Earlier this week, there had been a report that the Australia-born royal would join her husband Crown Prince Frederik for the sporting event that was created by Prince Harry back in 2014.

The Danish palace confirmed that Princess Mary will not attend the Invictus Games.

It has not been confirmed or denied whether Prince Frederik will make a trip to his wife’s homeland in support of the Danish team.

Aussies will still get their touch with royalty, with the Duke and his wife Duchess Meghan all confirmed to come along.

While Princess Mary is a no-go for the event, there’s no official word on Prince Frederik.

Earlier this week, Crown Prince Frederik underwent successful back surgery.

The Danish palace confirmed that the heir-to-the-throne would take some time out from his royal commitments to fully recover.

This year, Prince Fred celebrated his 50th birthday by hosting and participating in a Royal Run.

During the event, he spoke up about his back issues.

“I have had a few back problems lately which have stopped me from going running as I would like to.”
