The centuries-old tradition, which invites Danish dignitaries, was hosted by Queen Margrethe and held at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen.

The mum-of-four was truly a vision, dressed in a silk gold dress, teamed with a rich plum cake.

Adorning her pinned back brunette locks, Mary wore one of her favourite crowning jewels the Ruby Parure Tiara diamond, which is ruby-encrusted.

Maryโ€™s tiara was left to Prince Frederik by Queen Ingrid after she died in 2000, who then gifted the jewels to Mary.

The royals and their guests had a merry old time in the palaceโ€™s Great Hall.

The Danish Monarch shared the eveningโ€™s menu on their website, and it truly was fit for royalty.

The attendees feasted on pheasant consommรฉ, meat and dumplings for entree, followed by a saddle of lamb, spinach flan and cheese pie and a kumquat cake called Kumquatkage served with meringue for dessert.
