Princess Mary, Prince Frederik and their children have made their way to Norway to meet with future monarchs for an informal royal generations meeting – and shared an adorable group photo as a result!
By invitation of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, royals from Sweden, Luxembourg and Denmark met at the summer Estate of Norway’s royal family in Mågerø , on the island of Tjøme , south of Oslo, earlier this week.
Along with Mary, Frederik and their four kids, Christian, 9, Isabella, 8, and twins Josephine and Vincent, 4, were the next in line for the Norwegian, Swedish and Luxembourgian thrones.
In an image released by The Norwegian royal family the coming together of four different kingdoms was captured for posterity – though we couldn’t help but notice Prince Christian and Princess Isabella looked less than impressed!
Sweden’s future Queen, Crown Princess Victoria and her daughter Princess Estelle, three were present while the soon-to-be-mum-of-two’s husband Prince Daniel was absent due to a cold.
Heir apparent to the Norweigian throne Prince Haakon hosted the event with his gorgeous wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit and their two kids, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, 11 and Prince Sverre Magnus, nine.
Uninvited to the event was Marius Borg Høiby, Princess Mette-Marit’s child from a previous relationship.
Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg were also at the meeting which was designed to bring together the princes and princesses, heirs and heiresses of the four kingdoms.
The photo released from the special occasion shows the future leaders sitting gracefully on a rock surrounded by the stunning greenery of the Norwegian home.
Despite being used to seeing these royals in ballgowns, tiaras and tailored suits, they all they chose comfort over regal attire for the informal occasion.
