Crown Princess Mary and her family are the faces of a new stamp for Greenland.
Dressed in the traditional costume of Greenland Mary was joined by her husband, Crown Prince Frederik as well as their four children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine a for the commemorative stamp issued on Monday.
The family of six looked adorable as they smiled widely for the pictures – and the children could also be seen enjoying themselves on the set of the shoot in other images released by the palace.
Greenland is an autonomous Danish territory and the stamp was made to honour Mary and Frederik’s twelve and a half year wedding anniversary – which is apparently a thing in Denmark.
As we reported in our November issue (on sale now!) the copper anniversary is half of 25 years so that’s what makes it an important milestone.
“If the couple follows in tradition, friends and family will erect a beautiful garland of winding foliage and flowers into a demi-arch halfway around the front door and will wake the couple early with joyous singing,” The Weekly’s Juliet Rieden reported.
“Again, if tradition plays, the royal couple will appear in their pyjamas feigning surprise and invite the singers inside for a copper wedding breakfast.”
Mary and Frederik were married on May 14 2004 at the Copenhagen Cathedral after meeting at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
